Parkwood Estate
Designated a National Historic Site in 1989, the sprawling Parkwood Estate was home of the McLaughlin family (the founders of McLaughlin Motors, which would eventually become General Motors of Canada). Tours are available year round. Film enthusiasts may recognize the estate... it has been used as a film set for a number of movies and TV shows, including Billy Madison and X-Men. The Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum
Military history buffs won't want to miss a visit to the Ontario Regiment Museum, located next to the Oshawa Airport off of Stevenson Road. The museum features over 100 operational military vehicles, the largest collection in North America. Tanks, jeeps, armoured cars and trucks are all on site. For more information, click here.
